Growing up in a suburb in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, stable electricity was a luxury only a few families could afford. This was basically because electricity only got to my neighborhood rarely from the national grid, and most families were strained to generate their own electricity. My specific research interests lie at the intersection of Renewable Energy and advanced materials, focusing on how smart technologies can enhance efficient, eco-friendly, and sustainable practices.Being a graduate of Chemistry at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels from the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria, equipped me with the knowledge of how the materials around us can transform and advance technologies, thereby making our lives better. My desire to advance renewable energy technology has propelled me to take and competed a course on Nanotechnology and nanosensors from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. My mini project focused on facilitating real-time monitoring and enhanced efficiency of renewable energy systems through advanced sensor technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT).I highlighted how nanoscale sensors capable of measuring variables such as solar irradiance, CO2 concentration, wind speed, and temperature can optimize energy production and consumption, leading to more effective integration of renewable energy solutions in our daily lives. The Salt Hub might offer services like research and development, project management, consulting, and innovation support, all aimed at helping organizations transition to cleaner energy solutions and improve energy efficiency.
